ADMISSIONS POLICY

Educational Goals

Muskegon Catholic Central is dedicated to educating students of all faiths in spirit, mind and body through offering a Catholic, Christ-centered environment for learning.

Admissions Criteria

A determination of admission is based on a review of the student’s current grades, special support service evaluation reports, and an understanding of any attendance or behavioral challenges the student experienced from their previous school. Students requiring special support services will be evaluated for admission on an individual basis based upon their needs and the school’s ability to support and accommodate those needs. Admission may be denied if it is determined that the student cannot be successful with the academic and/or behavioral expectations of Muskegon Catholic Central.

Students accepted with a prior academic, attendance or behavioral infraction from their previous school, may be placed on a performance plan in addition to the trial period. This performance plan will be reviewed and signed by the admissions team, parents, and student prior to the student’s first day of school.

Muskegon Catholic Schools accepts students regardless of race, ethnic origin, sex or handicap which is unrelated to the student’s ability to utilize and benefit from the educational opportunities, programs and facilities offered by the school.

All students shall comply with State of Michigan required Immunization and Health Laws prior to admission.

Admissions Team

All admissions decisions are made by the MCC Admissions team inclusive of: the Director of Enrollment, Head Principal and President of the school.

Terms of Admission

All transferring students admitted to Muskegon Catholic Central are accepted on a trial period for eight (8) weeks or one (1) quarter. If there is consistently poor behavior, a lack of attendance, or inattention to academics during this trial period, the student, parents and admissions team will conduct a meeting to determine if the student can continue at the school successfully.

All students accepted are expected to participate in all instructional programs offered by the school. Parents are expected to support and cooperate with all educational and administrative policies of the school.
