Muskegon Catholic Central is dedicated to equipping its students with the technology necessary to prepare them for the future. Students in grades 6 through 12 benefit from a 1:1 technology environment, where each student is issued a school computer for nearly all class assignments and homework. Similarly, students in grades 1 through 5 also have access to individual Chromebooks as needed to support their academic goals. Additionally, Preschool and Kindergarten students receive considerable exposure to technology, with an approximate ratio of one device for every two students.
Starting in the 2015-2016 school year, Muskegon Catholic Central transitioned from Windows netbooks to Chromebooks. This change will enhance administrative efficiency and allow the technology staff to concentrate on ensuring that students acquire the advanced skills required for future success.
Our students in grades 6-12 complete their homework and submit assignments online. The school provides each student with a computer and internet access on campus. However, having internet access at home is also crucial for student success. For families struggling to afford a high-speed internet connection, Comcast offers a service called Internet Essentials. Families with at least one student who qualifies for the national free or reduced lunch program can apply for high-speed internet through Comcast for just $9.95 a month, plus tax.
