TECHNOLOGY AT MCC
Muskegon Catholic Central is committed to providing its students with the technology needed to prepare them for the future. Students in Grades 7 through 12 are in a 1:1 environment, using a school-issued computer for virtually all of their class assignments and homework. Students in Grades 1 though 6 are 1:1 as well, with Chromebooks available whenever it is beneficial to the academic goal. And students in Preschool and Kindergarten receive ample exposure to technology as well, with a ratio of approximately one device to every two students.
With the 2015-2016 school year, Muskegon Catholic Central joined schools across Muskegon County in making the switch from Windows netbooks to Chromebooks. This change will streamline administrative duties, allowing technology staff to focus on ensuring that students are learning the advanced skills they’ll need to succeed in their future endeavors.
AFFORDABLE HOME INTERNET ACCESS
Our Grade 7-12 students complete homework and turn in assignments online. The school provides a computer for each student and internet access at school. But access to the internet at home is another important component of student success. For families who have a hard time covering the cost of a high speed internet connection, Internet Essentials from Comcast is available. Families who have at least one student who qualifies for the national free or reduced lunch program can apply for high speed internet through Comcast at just $9.95 a month plus tax.
