Please join us in giving a warm Crusader welcome to the newest member of our elementary team, our new 1st Grade Teacher, Lauren Kubiak! 🍎📚
We are excited to have her join the MCC family and can't wait for our students to learn, grow, and thrive in her classroom this school year. We know she will be a wonderful addition to our community!
Welcome to Muskegon Catholic Central—we're so glad you're here!
Here is a note from Lauren:
"Hello! My name is Lauren Kubiak and I am thrilled to be a first year, first grade teacher at Muskegon Catholic Central. One of the biggest blessings of my life is having the opportunity to work with young learners and see all of the different ways they can grow and flourish. In my free time, I love to be outside whether it is going for a walk or (trying to) golf. I am a huge fan of crafts and recently taught myself how to crochet and knit. I am an even bigger fan of Detroit football, baseball, and hockey! I am a graduate of K-12 Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Grand Rapids. I am so excited and honored to begin this journey as a Catholic teacher, and even more grateful that it is at a place where I know I will feel at home. I cannot wait to meet the amazing students at MCC and grow into the best teacher that I can be! "

Dear Muskegon Catholic Central Families,
I pray that your summer vacation is off to a wonderful start!
I wanted to share an exciting opportunity for your children this summer. The Diocese of Grand Rapids is partnering with St. Mary's Parish in Muskegon to offer Totus Tuus, a dynamic Catholic summer program for students entering Grades 1–12.
Totus Tuus is a summer Catholic youth program dedicated to sharing the Gospel and strengthening the Catholic faith through evangelization, catechesis, Christian witness, and Eucharistic worship. The program is led by teams of enthusiastic college students and seminarians who provide a fun, engaging, and faith-filled experience for participants.
An added benefit is that the program takes place during next week's "dead week" for athletics, so students can participate without missing any athletic practices or training sessions.
Please see the attached flyer for program dates, details, and registration information, or click here. We encourage our families to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity for faith, fellowship, and fun during the summer months.
Thank you, and may God continue to bless your family this summer!
Yours in Christ,
Mr. Hilgert

MUSKEGON, Mich. — Muskegon Catholic Central has named Trevor Hinshaw as the school's next Athletic Director.
Hinshaw returns to MCC, where he previously served as Athletic Director and Head Boys Basketball Coach. He brings a deep background as a coach, athletic administrator, and leader in coach development, with extensive experience spanning both high school and collegiate sports, including most recently at Grand Rapids Catholic Central.
Throughout his career, Hinshaw has focused on building successful programs and helping schools achieve sustained success. Under his leadership as an Athletic Director, schools have captured 18 state championships across seven different sports, including five school-first state titles. His administrative background includes strategic planning, fundraising, facility upgrades, community engagement, and coach development.
In addition to his work in athletic administration, Hinshaw is the founder of Kinnect360, a professional development platform used by schools nationwide to support coaches and strengthen athletic department culture. The platform provides resources focused on leadership, mindset, character development, and professional growth for coaches and student-athletes.
"We are thrilled to welcome Trevor back to Muskegon Catholic Central," said Dr. Jerry McDowell, President and 6-12 Principal. "Trevor brings a unique combination of experience to this role. His track record as a coach and athletic director speaks for itself, but what stands out most is his passion for developing people. He understands the mission of Catholic education and has consistently demonstrated the ability to lead with vision and integrity. We look forward to the impact he will have on our students, coaches, and families."
For Hinshaw, returning to Muskegon Catholic Central is both a professional opportunity and a personal homecoming.
"Muskegon Catholic Central holds a special place in my heart," Hinshaw said. "I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to return and serve this community once again. MCC has a proud tradition of excellence, and I look forward to partnering with our coaches, student-athletes, parents, alumni, and supporters to provide great experiences for our students that honor our Catholic mission."
As Athletic Director, Hinshaw plans to focus on supporting coaches, fostering open lines of communication, streamlining operations, investing in student-athlete development, and fostering a culture grounded in faith and service.
"My goal is to build upon the strong foundation already in place," Hinshaw said. "Athletics play a powerful role in faith formation and character development, and one of the truly unique things about MCC is that there is a place on a team for every single one of our students. I firmly believe the lessons learned through educational athletics become even more impactful when they are paired with a relentless pursuit of competitive excellence. When student-athletes are challenged to compete at the highest level, overcome adversity, and serve something bigger than themselves, the lessons they learn stay with them for life. I am excited to work alongside our coaches and school leadership to ensure our athletic department continues to be a source of pride for the entire MCC community."
Hinshaw will assume his role this summer and will begin meeting with coaches, student-athletes, parents, and community members to prepare for the upcoming school year.
