Growing in Faith:
Our Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, and Kindergarten students have been spending time in the Level 1 Atrium of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS).
Through prayer, Scripture, hands-on materials, and quiet reflection, our youngest students are beginning to grow in their relationship with Jesus and discover the beauty of our Catholic faith.
We are grateful for our Catechists and the opportunity to nurture their faith and love for God from the very beginning of their education.

Our K–5 artists have been busy celebrating International Dot Day, a worldwide celebration of creativity, courage, and discovering where one small idea can take you! 🎨
Students read The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds, the story of a young artist who learns to trust her creativity and simply “make a mark and see where it takes you.”
Last week, students started by creating their very own colorful “dot paper,” experimenting with colors. Today, they brought that paper back and transformed their dots into something completely new!
🌷 Some dots became colorful gardens filled with flowers and imagination.
🌎 Others became incredible galaxies, with dots transformed into planets floating through space!
From one simple dot came so many different ideas, and no two creations were the same!
We loved watching our K–5 students make their mark!

We are excited to welcome Leah McKenna as our new Kindergarten teacher! Leah is a proud former MCC Crusader and a 2022 graduate of Calvin University. She has teaching experience at a bilingual Catholic school in Albuquerque, New Mexico, as well as with Muskegon Public Schools' Two-Way Immersion program.
Leah is passionate about early childhood education and believes that the kindergarten years provide a strong foundation for a lifetime of learning. She shared the following message with our school community:
"I am looking forward to encouraging a love of learning and fostering kindness and compassion toward our neighbors. In my free time, I enjoy running, reading, and painting. I am very excited to be a part of the MCC community!"
We know Leah will be a wonderful addition to our elementary family, and we are excited for the faith-filled, engaging, and nurturing classroom she will create for our youngest Crusaders.

I love math, and I love sharing my interests with others; what could be better than sharing my love of math for a living! Outside of math, I'm a huge music nerd with an ever-growing record collection, a runner, programmer, trivia enthusiast, video gamer, and an increasingly avid reader.
