Dear Class of 2026,

As we celebrate each and every one of you as you walked across the stage as graduates of Muskegon Catholic Central, that moment marked the end of one chapter and the beginning of another — one filled with endless possibilities, new adventures, and opportunities to make a difference in the world.

You have left your mark on MCC through your faith, leadership, friendships, service, school spirit, and perseverance. From the classrooms and hallways to the athletic fields, fine arts performances, and community events, you represent the Crusader tradition with pride and heart. Your journey has been filled with memories that will stay with you forever — the victories, the challenges, the laughter, and the moments that brought your class together.

As you move forward, remember the values that Muskegon Catholic Central helped instill in you: faith, compassion, integrity, and courage. Carry those values into every classroom, workplace, community, and relationship you encounter. The world needs leaders who serve others, stand strong in their beliefs, and lead with kindness.

While your time at MCC may have come to an end, you will always be a part of the Crusader family. We are incredibly proud of all you have accomplished and excited to see where life takes you next. Never forget where you came from, the people who supported you along the way, and the memories you created here.

Congratulations, Class of 2026! May God continue to guide your path and bless your future. Chase your dreams boldly, trust in His plan, and know that your MCC family will always be cheering you on.

Once a Crusader, always a Crusader.

With pride and prayers,
Muskegon Catholic Central

2026 Seniors

Dear Crusader Community,

My name is Julie Walkenhorst, and I am the current head cross country coach at Muskegon Catholic Central. 2026 will be my 2nd year as head coach. Before that, I was assistant coach for four years under Steve Douglas (Class of ‘81).

This year, our home invitational is getting a makeover. On Saturday, August 22, 2026, we will be hosting the Crusader Cross Country Classic. The high school boys will race at 8:15, and the high school girls will race at 9:00. At 9:45, there will be an Alumni and Community race open to all. I invite you to come cheer on our current cross country runners and then stay to run the 5k cross country course. Our new course starts and finishes on the old “cinder” track in the stadium. The course is flat and fast.

Race registration is at https://runsignup.com/Race/MI/Muskegon/CrusaderCrossCountryClassic

Cost is $25 if you register by August 21. Race day registration is possible but will cost $30. But don’t wait too long to register. There are only 100 spaces available for the race! Race proceeds support the cross country and track & field teams.

If you can’t run in the race, there is an option to donate money through the link. Donations will go to both the cross country and the track and field teams.

Thank you for your support! I hope to see you in August!

Ms. Olsen’s 3rd grade class recently finished reading Peter Pan together as a class! 📚✨

The students were such great listeners and readers throughout the story that they earned a special movie day to watch Peter Pan! 🍿 During the movie, they had fun discussing the similarities and differences between the book and film while bringing the story to life in a whole new way.

Fun was had by all as they celebrated their hard work and love of reading! 💚💛

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming our elementary “Presidents for the Day,” Gibson Norton - Grade 5
Merritt Norton - Grade 3, and what a wonderful day it was for everyone involved!

Throughout the day, our student presidents had the opportunity to experience many aspects of school leadership and daily operations at Muskegon Catholic Central. They were introduced to one of our valued donors, participated in a walkthrough of the building, and visited classrooms while meeting students and staff.

They also helped create and send a special email message to our MCC families, employees, and Board of Trustees, signed related business office paperwork, and worked together to create 12 trivia questions—one for each grade from 3rd through 11th. They then visited applicable classrooms for a fun trivia Q&A session with students.

In addition, they distributed treats to students during lunch periods and made a thoughtful PA announcement encouraging students and staff to think about something kind they could do for someone today.

Most importantly, they learned more about MCC's daily operations and gained insight into the work that keeps our school community running smoothly.

To conclude their special experience, each student president went home with a gift bag filled with a variety of age-appropriate items that we hope they will enjoy as much as we enjoyed having them serve in this important role today.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this experience so meaningful and memorable for our students.

On Wednesday, our 🅲🅻🅰🆂🆂 🅾🅵 2026 🆂🅴🅽🅸🅾🆁🆂 took one final walk through the elementary halls — sharing smiles, memories, and high fives with our youngest Crusaders. 💚💛

From the first day of kindergarten to their final year at MCC, these seniors have grown into incredible leaders and role models. Watching our elementary students look up to them reminds us what the Crusader family is all about.

Our 1st Graders combined creativity and real-world learning during their Mother’s Day Market Day celebration! As part of their lessons on Producers and Consumers, as well as adding and subtracting money, students created handmade items to “sell” at their classroom market.

The 2nd and 3rd graders stopped by to shop, and many of our young entrepreneurs completely sold out of their items! From start to finish, the event was filled with excitement, learning, and plenty of smiles as students went home with armfuls of goodies.

Thank you to all of the students and parents who helped make this such a successful and enjoyable event. Great job, Crusaders!
